When every morning looks like this, who needs a vacation?
This was a fun assignment to head over to nearby Harvey’s lake for Salter Spiral Stairs, a Collegeville company, and get some shots of a galvanized steel staircase at a boathouse. Salter was easy to communicate with and they seem to have many very happy clients, including this one. This boathouse was a heavenly spot, with good sky and water viewing, food deck with fire pit, and swimming access.
Harvey’s lake was so pretty in the foggy morning light. I drove past the public boat launch, and enjoyed learning a little bit about the history of the lake. It is the largest natural lake in PA by volume and is over 100 feet deep. It was formed by glacial activity and is over 600 acres on the surface. Once upon a time there were railroads, amusement parks, and grand hotels – one had Theodore Roosevelt as guest! There are many interesting structures around the lake.
